Just keep in mind… Over 60 dwellers? The Deathclaws come and they come often and frequently. As you gain in population you can increase the number of couplings if you wish.

In the beginning when you have very few dwellers I recommend you breed no more than two at a time. They aren’t even finicky about who they are coupling with as long as they aren’t somewhere in their family tree that is. Breeding doesn’t only increase our population it makes dwellers happy, especially the ladies! All female dwellers are longing to have many children. To grow our vault, or basically increase our vault population we need breed our dwellers. Which brings us to the next fun thing… Breeding When we get a special dweller they tend to have some pretty nifty abilities, (stats), that can then be bred into the next generation of dwellers. Later in the game we can build them up but early in the game we are somewhat stuck with them. Most of our dwellers are less than Average Joe’s, with abilities, (stats), somewhere near the bottom ranges, (1’s or 2’s we are lucky if we get a 3 or higher).
Still? A free lunchbox brings a smile every time! But after opening a few of them and getting stuff I didn’t need, I was not so happy. Weapons, armor, clothing and the best of all – Special new Dwellers to occupy our Vault! That really is totally the best and the promise of that was enough to get me to buy some lunchboxes in the first place. They need to jazz those boxes up if they want me to buy more of them! Still… sometimes we get some really amazing and awesome stuff from the lunchboxes. You never know what’s inside and sometimes it can be really amazing! Sometimes it can also disappoint terribly… Not cool Bethesda! They ask us to buy more lunchboxes but there are no guarantees that they will have awesome stuff in them. No Surprise here really… Earning lunchboxes is like getting a surprise present. Creating your strategy is easier when you have an idea of what’s coming when and how best to build towards it. As you add dwellers you unlock more and more buildings, which does encourage you to grow… just be careful not to go too fast! I highly recommend you familiarize yourself with the many rooms available and at what population they will unlock. Once you do either, all bets are off and you may find that you are no longer able to enjoy yourself… unless Bethesda changes things.īuilding your vault can be fun, but working out a strategy early in the game is a bit difficult because you are very limited. I want to begin with the fun stuff, because, all in all, the game can be fun… at least in the beginning and as long as you do NOT build a radio station or exceed 60 dwellers in your vault.
